Just two miles from Dorchester in Dorset, Yalbury Cottage is set in the hamlet of Lower Bockhampton – the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex – walking distance to his birthplace, across the road from his old school house and around the corner from Stinsford church where his heart is buried.
Closing Notice
After 18 years of running Yalbury Cottage it has been more than just a business, it has been our home and a true labour of love. We have had the privilege of sharing our food, passion and hospitality with all of you since 2007. Thank you to all of our loyal guests we have welcomed throughout the years, our staff and local suppliers for filling Yalbury with joy and amazing memories. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and so we are announcing the last Yalbury Cottage Restaurant service will be December 21st 2025. We hope to see you all between now and then. Thank you so much.
