Enjoy the unique character of Yalbury Cottage

Yalbury Cottage, in the small hamlet of Lower Bockhampton, dates back 300 years and was once home to the local shepherd and the keeper of the water meadows.

Though surrounded by green fields and woodland, we are just two miles from Dorchester.

Bockhampton was the inspiration for the village of Mellstock in Thomas Hardy's Under the Greenwood Tree, and we are a short walk from
his birthplace.

There are many other places of interest nearby, including castles, gardens, stately homes, picturesque villages and Dorset's magnificent coastline.

The lounge and restaurant provide the ideal setting for private lunch parties, weddings and family celebrations. Please ask for details. We have ample car parking space.

The bedrooms

We have eight spacious rooms,
in the modern part of the building,
decorated in a simple cottage style.

Each room has:
an en-suite bathroom
bath and shower
direct dial telephone
television
built-in DVD player
hair dryer
tea and coffee making facilities

We also have a free DVD library so you can relax with a favourite film after dinner.
