Beef & Ale Stew

4 portions

1kg   Braising steak
2   Large carrots, peeled and diced
3 Large potatoes peeled and diced same size as carrots
2 Large onions peeled and diced
2 sticks Celery, washed and diced
2 teasp Sundried tomato paste
200g  Chestnut mushrooms washed and ¼
750ml Dark ale
2 tbs Flour
2 tbs Olive oil
1 Bouquet garnis
Chopped parsley


Method :
Season the flour with salt and pepper and dust each piece of the braising steak.

In a frying pan heat the olive oil and sear each piece of steak until golden brown then add to the slow cooker or casserole dish.

Bring the same pan back to high heat and add a vegetable at a time and add to slow cooker, season each vegetable.

Deglaze the frying pan with the ale and add the tomato paste, once the pan is clean add to the slow cooker.

Check that there is sufficient fluid in the slow cooker by adding water to cover all the ingredients add the bouquet garnis cover and turn the slow cooker to automatic cook.

Serve in deep bowls with chopped parsley to garnish.
